Permanent Cosmetics
Is Permanent Makeup Right For Me?
Nearly everyone can benefit from the convenience of permanent cosmetics including people with allergies to conventional makeup, people who are physically incapable of applying makeup, athletes who tend to shed makeup easily, burn survivors, people with flaws in their skin, and people with asymmetrical facial features.
What Can I Expect After The Procedure?
Topical anesthetics are used to minimize discomfort during the procedure. Afterward, there will be slight swelling and redness in the skin, which will subside quickly. Makeup will appear 30-40% darker than the desired outcome color for about 5 days. An ointment is applied over the 5 day healing period that will leave a shine on the area. Patients will be given specific post-treatment instructions, based on the area(s) of treatment. You may resume most normal activities immediately after the procedure. Complete healing takes 1-6 weeks while the pigmentation reaches its final color. It is normal to need a touch-up or enhancement at this time which is included in the original price. It is also normal over years of time for the permanent cosmetics to fade and need an enhancement of color 1 to 5 years out. The fee for this is a fraction of the original procedure, not full price.
Choosing the Right Permanent Makeup Technician
You should never shop for price in this matter. This is your face and a bargain price isn’t a bargain if the end result is less than satisfactory. Your results will be only as good as the technician you choose. Choose your technician carefully by considering their training, experience, and examples of their previous work. Check for licensing, certifications, and be sure they have liability insurance. Ask for references from previous patients.
