KYBELLA™ Procedure

What is Kybella™?

KYBELLA is the first and only FDA-approved injectable for contouring the face and improving the look of submental fullness. KYBELLA is made from deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring chemical in the body, used to help absorb fats. Injected directly into the fatty tissue underneath the chin, KYBELLA targets and destroys individual fat cells. The treatment can restore a youthful, sculpted chin. KYBELLA offers patients a noninvasive improvement, with little risk for infection or other complications.

How is Kybella™ Used?

Once the target area has been identified, and the extent of correction required, a series of tiny injections will be applied underneath the chin. Each KYBELLA session takes minutes to perform, and patients generally report only mild discomfort.

A series of three to six KYBELLA sessions will be required for optimum results; the exact number will depend on the individual patient’s aesthetic needs. Each treatment should be spaced approximately four weeks apart. Once the desired results have been achieved, no additional treatment sessions are necessary. The results from KYBELLA are long-lasting.

Who is a Candidate For Kybella™?

Anyone over 18, who is frustrated with excess fatty tissue below their chin, may find that KYBELLA can be beneficial. The ideal candidate for KYBELLA will be in overall good health, have a full understanding of the treatment, and have realistic expectations for their results. Patients of all skin types and ethnicities can enjoy the benefits of KYBELLA. However, those with an active infection, are pregnant, or have a bleeding disorder should postpone their KYBELLA treatment.

Schedule a Personal Kybella™ Cosultation

Before starting treatments with KYBELLA, a one-on-one consultation will be scheduled. At this time, a physical examination of the facial anatomy will be performed. We will explain the benefits and limitations of KYBELLA, as well as all other potential treatments for restoring facial contours and improving submental fullness. If KYBELLA is determined to be the best procedure to meet the patient’s goals, then a personalized treatment plan will be created.

Risks and Complications of Kybella™

KYBELLA is considered safe and effective. While complications are extremely rare, possible side effects include swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness, difficulty swallowing, and nerve injury. Most of the initial redness, minor swelling, and bruising will diminish the first few days after a KYBELLA treatment.

Actual Results With Kybella™

The benefits of KYBELLA treatment can be seen after as few as two treatments. The injectable will target and permanently destroys the fat cells in the treatment area. The small needles used during a KYBELLA treatment are virtually painless. Our experienced staff at The Center are trained with the most advanced injection techniques available. There is no downtime required after the KYBELLA procedure. Patients are back to their usual routine the same afternoon.

Other Popular Procedures

Breast Lift

Breasts that have lost their firm, uplifted contours can affect a woman’s self-image and confidence. A breast lift is a surgical procedure that reshapes and lifts sagging breasts, helping to restore their youthful appearance. This surgery is particularly popular among women who have experienced changes in their breasts due to pregnancy, aging, or weight fluctuations. At the Center for Aesthetic, a breast lift (mastopexy) may be right for you if you want to restore the firmness and shape of your breasts. The procedure works by removing excess skin, tightening the surrounding tissues, and repositioning the nipples, which can also improve the symmetry and overall shape of the breasts, resulting in a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.

LIPOSUCTION

Trying to exercise off stubborn fat deposits can be frustrating, if not impossible; but at the Center for Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery, liposuction can help. Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty, is a surgical procedure that involves using a suction technique to remove excess fat from various parts of the body, including the abdomen, thighs, hips, buttocks, arms, and neck. Despite efforts to lose weight through exercise and a healthy diet, stubborn fat deposits may persist in these areas. Liposuction provides a solution for eliminating these unwanted fat deposits, resulting in a more contoured and toned appearance. This procedure can effectively remove fatty tissue from just about anywhere on the body, from head to feet, helping you achieve the body shape you desire.

KYBELLA™

The ‘double chin’ is a common and often under-treated aesthetic concern for both women and men. Traditionally, the only solution was semi-invasive liposuction. Fortunately, a new, highly effective alternative is now available. KYBELLA is an FDA-approved injectable treatment designed to improve the appearance of a double chin by permanently destroying fat cells in the targeted area. This minimally invasive procedure offers a convenient, non-surgical option for those seeking a more sculpted and defined facial profile. With its unique deoxycholic acid formulation, KYBELLA effectively breaks down and eliminates stubborn fat deposits, ensuring long-lasting results. Its safety and effectiveness have made it a popular choice among patients seeking a more contoured jawline.
